Vrijdagavond 25 november vond het ‘t hok lanceerfeestje plaats. 

De allereerste exemplaren van het fotoboek werden in ‘t hok ‘t flessie feestelijk overhandigd aan die drie hokken de Zuipkar, ‘t Flessie en het Tapvat. Daarnaast ontving ieder hok een fotoprint in een toepasselijke stoffig en ouderwetse fotolijst van de lokale kringloop. 

Het feestje werd bezocht door ongeveer 30 tot 40 genodigden. En zo’n 40 boeken zijn gesigneerd in de jassen van de jongeren mee naar huis verscheept. De avond was een geweldig succes en het feestje eindigde uiteindelijk met de laatste bikkels om 3:30. 

De presentatie is ook gevolgd door WOS TV, RITV, de Echo en de Maasbever. Hun verslaggeving wordt later aan de website toegevoegd. 

Vanaf vandaag zullen ook de eerste bestelde boeken worden opgestuurd.

Friday night the 25th of November the release-party for ‘t hok took place.

The first three copies of the photo book were presented in one of the photographed ‘hokken’ to the three hokken called ‘t Flessie, de Zuipkar and het Tapvat. 
Around 30 to 40 people attended the party and about 40 books were singed and given out the the young people present. The night was a big success and ended with the last die-hards around 3:30 in the morning.  

From today the first books will be shipped to there owners.

‘T boek ‘t hok is gearriveerd en kan nu, nog voor de officiële lancering alvast worden besteld via de website www.thokboek.nl, welke ook is geupdate met een inkijkexemplaar.

And almost all photoseries on the website have now new easy going flash galleries provided by the kind gentlemen of Viewbook

Yesterday, the 10th, at least 48.000 pages were shipped to the binder to eventually form 500 copies of the book ”t hok’.  
The binder will use the Swiss bind method to give tho book a special look.

The release of the book is set on the 25th of november 

On the 6th of september, during the 6th edition of ‘de Donkere Kamer’ in Amsterdam i got the unique opportunity to get funding for publishing the photobook ‘t hok’. 

As part of the program three photographers get the chance to pitch there photoprojects for 3 minutes to the crowd in the room. Who in there turn can decide to support you by donating 0 to 5 euro’s at the end of the last pitch. 

At the end of the evening it appeared I was lucky enough to collect the most donations with 515 euro’s, plus a extra donation of 300 euro’s by the Dutch Photographers Federation.  
I was very thrilled that night, and the total of 815,00 euro’s is currently being invested in the photobook so it can be released in a edition of 500 pieces. 

The release date of the book will be the 25th of november 

Het aankomende fotoboek ”t hok’ is bijna klaar voor de grote druk. Vandaag zijn de eerste proefvellen gedrukt bij drukkerij van Deventer in ‘s-Gravenzande. Deze worden gebruikt om het uiteindelijke resultaat te perfectioneren.

Voor het boek is inmiddels een aparte website beschikbaar en hierop kun je eventueel alvast een boek reserveren. Zie daarvoor www.thokboek.nl 

Today there were added 54 images of the Lowlands Festival I photographed for NRC Next. You can find a series that covers all four days, but also three series that were published in the festival newspaper: ’daily paradise’. 

For NRC Lux I photographed three beekeepers in the cities Amsterdam and Den Haag. The result is two stings, a very itchy week and an update to commissioned work. 

The website is now updated with the series ‘Kuilengravers’, which can be found under work. 

Also the layout of the website has been redefined. The ‘fresh photos’ will now be shown just as big as your screen is. But to be sure you will see the website as it should be, be also sure to really refresh your browsers memory.
